Canadian Actor Christopher Plummer has died at 91.

Christopher Plummer has died an iconic Canadian actor perhaps the best-known most respected Canadian actor of all time. He began his professional acting career at the age of 16 and later starred in Broadway in the Starcraft story in 1954 in his 20s, his breakout film role was of course in The Sound of Music in the 1960s. He once said his favorite role was playing Henry, the fifth at Stratford in Ontario in 1956. That was his debut in Stratford, Ontario

The Actor died peacefully at his home in Connecticut, with his wife, Elaine Taylor by his side. In a statement, Lou Pitt calls plumber, a national treasure. He said “Chris was an extraordinary man who deeply loved and respected his profession with great old fashioned manners self-deprecating humor and the music of words. He touched all of our hearts and his legendary life will endure for all generations to come. He will forever be with us.”

“I’m recognized for the highest kind of work that we can do in our professional niches, the classics. The best writers. And so I have no ax to grind this year because they have tall said such nice things.”

Known for his captivating performances on the screen and stage Glover’s career spans nearly 70 years. Among his most celebrated roles playing Captain john von Trapp in 1965, The Sound of Music

In 2012 Plummer took home, Oscar gold for his work in the comedy-drama beginners
